The island of Cres: Lubenice Music Nights

Lubenice’s Music Nights are traditionally held in historic village of Lubenice on the island of Cres. It is an unforgettable experience in a beautiful ambient of Lubenice’s church with renowned artists. Lubenice is a windswept village occupying a ridge high above the shore with a medieval ambiance. The square at the entrance to the village boasts an invigorating view of the rugged western coast, with a pair of idyllic, secluded pebbly coves far below; they're only accessible by boat or via a very steep and tiring path from the village itself.

Evenings of alfresco classical music are being held each Friday during July and August. Tickets can be bought in the town of Cres in Autotrans Office (www.autotrans.hr). Price includes a bus ticket from the town of Cres to Lubenice and back. Bus arrives to Lubenice a half an hour before the concert which leaves each passenger just about enough time to explore this magical little village.

If you want to explore Lubenice more thoroughly and maybe leave enough time to walk down to the magnificent coves underneath the village, your best option to drive yourself in a car. A narrow road leads all the way up to the hill where Lubenice is situated. If you don’t have a car, renting one or a scooter is well worth it. Regular bus lines connect Lubenice with Cres Town only about five times a week.
