Croatian Adriatic: Hottest summer festivals on the coast

Day & Night Motomusic Summer Festival

16-19 July 2008, Papaya Club, Zrce beach in Novalja, the island of Pag, map



Papaya Day&Night MotoMusic Summer Festival will be held on Pag island form July 16th till July 19th, 2008. Papaya Club Zrće Pag Croatia will host some of world’s most famous DJs this year. DJ Tiësto will open the Festival on July the 16th, followed by PlayOne featuring Barbara Tucker on 17th. The next day, July 18th, is reserved for Tom Novy and Sandy Riviera. The festival is ending with Freemasons on July the 19th.

Seasplash Reggae Festival

17-20 July, Monumenti, Pula, map



The biggest dub reggae spectactle in this part of Europe. It hosts on 3 stages names like Zion Train, Overproof Soundsystem, The Freestylers, TRICKY D, Molara, New York Ska Jazz Ensemble, Prince Alla + Najavibes Band and Vibronics.

Ethnoambient Salona

18-19 July 2008, Solin near Split, map



Ethnoambient Salona is an annual world music festival for people who are in love with the sounds from the different parts of the World. This music celebration is born out of love and run by love... love towards traditional heritage, contemporary movements of music, love towards human beings, Nature, love towards sounds... This year performers and artists come from the UK, Portugal, Greece, Russia and of course Croatia.

United Festival + Rabac Summer Festival

18-27 July 2008, Labin & Girandella beach in Rabac, map




In the second half of July former mining town of Labin and a near by coastal tourist resort Rabac will come alive with a new musical energy. Some of the artists performing on United Festival in Labin are Kultur Shock, Ky-Mani, Mr Marley, Nick Warren, Josh Gabriel from Gabriel and Dresden, Jason Phats (Phats & Small), Misstress Barbara, Trevor Rockcliffe and many, many other, while Rabac Summer Festival hosts world clubbing superstar Danny Tenaglia and many other DJs who promise top-notch partying.


Otok glazbe / Island of Music

23 -27 July 2008, Bašta, Lastovo, map



This ethno-rock-jazz-blues-world music festival is being held each year in the last week of July. Popularly it has been called “Dalmatian Woodstock”, so you can maybe get an idea what to expect. The best thing about this festival is the atmosphere. Some of the most exciting names of Croatian scene are included this year: Stampedo, Hladno Pivo, Šo!Mazgoon. Also see Mike Sponza Trio feat.Ian Siegal (IT/UK), : Kontrabant (SLO), etc. Accommodation in camping provided.

Skaville Festival

26-27 July 2008, Uvala Voz (Bay Voz) near Omisalj and the Krk bridge, the island of Krk, map



Organisers say this will be craziest dance summer festival on the Adriatic coast this year. Lineup is made of some less known bands, mostly ska oriented, from Croatia and Europe, plus inevitable DJs and soundsystems. It sounds promising!

Viva La Pola!

8-9 August, Uljanik, Pula, map



For the fifth year in a row Pula hosts one of the biggest punk events in Croatia. Main attraction are the legendary The Exploited. Other performers include regional bands like Oružjem protivu otmičara, Psycho-Path, Extrema, Dubioza Kolektiv and others.

Iron Maiden

Outlook Festival

29-31 August, Petrcane near Zadar, map



Run by various clubnights including Subdub, New Bohemia, The Doctors Orders and Vagabondz, plus Compost Records and the radio show Soulsearching it's a weekend of music covering the best in reggae, hiphop, dubstep, broken beat, drum & bass and dance-floor soul music. The event features performances by Gilles Peterson, Jehst, Exodus, Ramadanman, Spin Doctor, Michael Reinnboth, and many more.

Zrce croatia is must visit destination if you like to party or just enjojing in the sun and swimming.There is no beach in the world like Zrce becacuse it have great nature,great water without sharks or any dangerus animals,the water is very clean and the weather is perfect.Also if you wondering how much will cost you to come in Zrce beach you will be well suprised because it will be cheaper than visit any other country in Europe
